-What brings thou here, foreigner?-

Description

After having seen many grumbling and grouching gentlemen return from 'the Chalice', it was finally Yoshualito Kathaca's turn to go inside for the job interview. He strolled down the dark vestibule and entered the musty pub. What he encountered there was nothing like what he had expected. There was only a lady at the bar and beside her, the establishment seemed to be empty. She was a quite short lady with a continental face which looked at him fascinated with her pistachecoloured eyes. Her face was marked with a pretty big scar on her right cheekbone and lips that were coloured dark naturally, which stood out against her pale skin. Her untamed hair was cut on shoulder length and she was wearing a grey-brownish rag on her head (Yoshualito assumed this was meant to be a tuque, perhaps), which was not of any fashionable value. Her hands were gloved in black. She wasted her last bit of charm by smoking a panatella. It was not usual for the women here to smoke, especially cigars. Although she was not terribly repulsive after all, she neither was a magnificent beauty.
So it seemed the employer was female. She was sitting on a bar stool with one arm around her waist and while she tapped her panatella on the side of the ashtray she nodded at Yoshualito and asked him to take a seat.
"What brings thou here, foreigner?" she asked. Her way of speaking was old-fashioned, maybe ancient, even. She was probably not a native speaker, she might have learned it from a book from a previous century.

This scene I translated to English very quickly, and probably sloppy, so I'm sorry for the mistakes!
In this part Yoshualito Kathaca, the main character, meets detective Kanako/Canace. His first impression of her is that is a little odd.

I spent a lot of time on this drawing, but I'm realy pleased with the result :),
even though some angles are not entirely correct.
Also, the bar might seem quite empty without any drinking glasses, which is ironic because the name of the pub is 'the Glass Chalice', but I failed at drawing them so I decided not to add them here. You should look at the names of the drinks, by the way, some of them are a play of words ;)

I would love some reactions and critique!

My next drawing is probably going to be Yoshualito Kathaca himself, so I could use all of your advice!

Love,

Wallpaper I used, but darkened (c) lost the source :o I'm going to search for it!
